Respite and Emergency Shelter Care
Gibault's Respite Care and Emergency Shelter Care programs offers services to males and
females ages 6-21, in good physical health with a measured IQ of at least 70.
Respite Care and Emergency Shelter Care are not appropriate for children with
the following: severe mental health issues requiring psychiatric treatment, well
established patterns of aggression and violence, and chronic or serious medical
problems requiring close medical supervision.
Clients involved in Respite Care and Emergency Shelter Care programs are exposed to a
variety of programs and services designed to meet their individual needs.
Gibault's Respite Care Program Provides:
- Planned relief for foster parents and other caregivers for a period of
less than five days in duration.
- A safe and structured therapeutic setting
- Case management, educational services, and crisis counseling
- Therapy services may be provided upon request and at an additional cost
- Basic medical services
- Creative Alternatives in Recreation (CAIR)
Gibault's Emergency Shelter Care Program Provides:
- Emergency and temporary services for children and adolescents who are victims of
neglect or abuse, runaways, in need of temporary placement, or awaiting alternative placements.
- Safe and structured therapeutic setting for unplanned placements
for a period of less than 60 days in duration.
- Case management, educational services and crisis counseling
- Therapy services may be provided upon request and at an additional cost.
- Basic medical services
- Creative Alternatives in Recreation (CAIR)
